Day4: BKK July 2010


Hey guys! I'm back from my short beach vacation to Phuket, it was AWESOME.
I'm really really tanned and luckily only my lips was sunburnt
(more about this in my phuket travelogue that's coming up soon)

Super fun trip, i was just sorting out my phuket photos for blogging
when i realized my BKK July 2010 day 4 has not been posted up!
I've already added the post links for first few days of the trip to bkk on the
left side-bar under "My Travel Logs!"

Ahhh, forgive me for being so forgetful.





This was the last day of my bkk trip, and as usual i love to book
the latest flight available so we can enjoy the whole of our last day in bkk.

Went to baiyoke garment centre, which is just beside Baiyoke Sky Towers,
on the fourth level there's this restaurant. It's pretty conspicuous,
with a pool table right smack in the restaurant.





They serve the BEST thai cuisine. Noms.

I know everyone tells me the street food is really the best,
but.. ahh i just can't get over how unhygienic it could get especially
on the streets in bkk there's so much dust and dirt all over..

If i don't feel comfortable, it's just impossible for me to eat in peace.








Some of our must-order items:



Phad Thai




Stir-fried pork & veg with basil leaves.





Tom yum goong, their tom yum goong is really delicious,
it's not the clear soup type, but the milky, thicker type.
It's just perfectly in the middle, slighty spicy but not over the top!



And since we were at pratunam area, we dropped by the spa we visited during our last trip to bkk, it's actually located at Citin Pratunam hotel, stayed there during our December 2009 trip.












We both wanted the aroma oil massage, the last time we came here
i did the lavender oil massage and fell asleep, it was SOOO good.
This time i tried the Jasmine oil!






After the massage we took a cab back to our hotel in Suhkumvit,
and we past by the SAE in bkk, Boyf took his Audio engineering diploma in SAE Singapore!





And out of the sudden the cab the slowed down in the middle of nowhere,
like seriously in the middle of NOWHERE.


And the driver started cursing and shouting "LOW ON LPG LOW ON LPG!!!"
Being a girl who doesn't drive, i was totally oblivious about what's going on,
then boyf explained to me that the cab was out of gas?

WTF? only in bkk such random sway things could happen!
Hahahaha, so we got out of the cab and waited for quite some time for another cab.





Left our luggage at the hotel after we checked out that afternoon,
bought this super cute hot-pink-polka-dot luggage from baiyoke garment centre!





It's small enough as a hand-carry lugggage, so i used it for my phuket trip! (:
Oh yes and i bargained with the shop owner to sell me at 450baht
which converts to like, 20-25bucks?! Mad awesome buy!



Totally recommend the hotel we stayed for that 4 days, Grand Inn hotel,
you can go to my bkk july trip day 1 to check out the pics of the room.

It's essentially a tiny 3 stars hotel, but with modern decor and GREAT service
and most importantly free wi-fi (I still wanna stay connected with you guys even when i'm overseas)! Will definitely go back there if i'm going back to bkk.



Booked a cab thru our hotel and look at this cab!!!



..the roof is covered with currencies of many different countries!
We were super entertained by them throughout our journey to the airport.






Btw, if you're wondering.. it cost 300baht from suhkumvit area to the airport



Got my new luggage wrapped cos i had some glass and fragile stuff in it!

The bronzer with Nude, Red & Pink lips

I'm actually blogging about this post here in Phuket, Thailand!
Really enjoying my holiday here, got the cutest bandeau bikini
while strolling on the beach yesterday,
We're thinking of walking over to the beach for breakfast on the beach,
since boyf's still asleep i thought i'll blog first! (:


I'm really crazy about bronzers lately, can't stop shopping online for browsers,
and i found some bronzers that i bought awhile ago, i didn't even know i own 3 bronzers!
One Matte bronzer, One Semi-shimmery, One Super-shimmery.

I have oily oily oily oily skin. So honestly i try to steer clear of glitters and shimmery blushes, bronzers, foundation etc! But after trying out all 3 types of bronzer
(Which i didn't know exists in my makeup collection until recently!)
I really love the matte bronzer the best!
Some other might disagree with me, but i just don't like my face to resemble anything like a disco ball. So it's matte all the way for me!

Why do i love bronzer? it's not like i'm not tanned enough?!
Yes i am tanned, but with a bronzer it contours your face, makes your cheek bone pop and add warmth, plus i can use it as a blusher!




The best thing is, bronzers can go well with all sorts of lipstick colours.
So you don't have to go crazy matching your blushers to your lip colours if you don't own that many blusher shades!
( Eg: pink lips + pink blusher, coral lips + coral blusher )

With a nude lipstick + gloss:



It's really my first time doing a nude lip look, i didn't really like it thou,
i just can't carry it off, i think i look like a corpse in nude lips?






With a Red lipstick + gloss:



I was really excited to try this red lip look to prove my point that bronzers go well with any lipstick shades.. mostly because i've never tried wearing red lipsticks before.
I never dared to! I was kinda scared cos i thought i might screw up and look like a clown instead.



Damn.. i don't even own a single red lipstick!
Had to go dig into mommy's makeup pouch for a red lipstick to take these photos lol!

But after trying, i'm sold!
Officially going over to the dark side, was at duty free @ changi airport before flying over to phuket and i picked out a red lipstick for myself! hehehe (:









With a Soft Pink lipstick + gloss:




Smoky eyes + soft pink lipstick & gloss.. STILL look good paired with bronzers right?



So yah, bronzers can go with any lip colour so it's convenient for lazy people like me.
or people who don't wanna spend a fortune on buying 100000 shades of
blushers to match those 100000 shades of lip colours that own.

I'm currently obsessed with my red lip look.

Boy boy & Girl girl!

I've never been an aunt before! So congratulations to me upgrading to aunt status!!
Muahahaha, all my life i've always been the niece..
can you imagine my youngest aunt is actually in PRMARY SCHOOL NOW?

WTF, Since she was born she already got a niece - which is obviously me lah.
And there's never been any twins in my extended family!
Which makes it even more exciting for me, hehe i wonder how would they look like when they're older?

I'm not particularly fond of kids, i don't go awww and all squirm-ish when i see a baby..
never even held a baby before, not because i'm not trusted with doing that,
but because i don't normally want and not sure how to handle them?

And i'm really worried i might snap their bones like kit-kat accidentally or something?
Ok i guess that statement doesn't reflect me as being an aunt in the best way.
I hope my cousin don't read this, i don't think they will let me carry
my niece and nephew at all haha!

It was boyf's 24th birthday just afew days back..
and surprised boyf when i showed up at his doorsteps at 12.15am with my
home-baked super chocolate-y brownies + Ben & Jerry's Ice cream.

(lol, purposely reach late so he will feel sad like nobody celebrate with him hehe i'm such a sadist?!)



Hello, happy 24th love! (:






I went to the B&J website that day and saw that they have the new flavor,
Peanut Butter Cup (It's peanut butter ice cream with mini Reese cups)
If you haven't tried Reese cups before, go grab a bag from the Hershey's store
right outside Universal Studio! It's the best chocolate-peanut butter choc.

And this is coming from the peanut butter hater.
So trust me when i say it's good, it's reaaaaaally good.



Ok coming back to B&J Peanut Butter Cup ice cream,
i went to the 7-11 store near my place and expected to grab a tub of haagen daaz
or whatever ice cream that's available.. but i spotted the B&J Peanut Butter Cup!!!!
Omg i didn't even know that they stock B&J's! Mad happy!






Mad sinful combination. Ahhhh but it's soooo good!
hahahas Whoops so thick skinned say my own baking damn good.


Boyf was very touched that i bothered to come and celebrate his birthday with him,
even his parents go out play majong until midnight also not home yet!
So he's like home with the maid and dogs. lol so sad.




Very touched.. so he treat me to some really AWESOME Crab beehoon!!!
Seriously the BEST crab beehoon out there.





And as usual i always get the crab claws! Noms!



Oh have i forgotten to mention what my birthday gift to him is? :D





A trip to Phuket, Thailand!
Oh yeah we're leaving for our short beach vacation on Tuesday.
I've been keeping this secret since June, what a torture!


Left quite a big hole in my pocket, afterall i went to Tioman for my diving course, Genting trip with my ex-colleagues and a 5-day trip to Bangkok within this 3 months! LOTS OF $$$ SPENT!

Going to Milly's tomorrow to get my mani/pedi done before phuket! (:
Will be bringing my mummy's netbook along so i can still blog when i'm there,
I'm so ready for the sun and beach!

Ben & Jerry's CHUNKFEST 2010

Esther invited me to go to Ben & Jerry's Chunkfest 2010 last weekend!
It was held at Marina Promontory, i really don't like going there,
taxi drivers always don't know why is it and always give me the wtf face
when i say :"Marina Promontory pleeeeease!"


Esther was like, "Why call this place what marina promontory,
should just call it a big field by marina bay?!"

I got the grumpiest rudest possible taxi driver that day. Sian
I always get those cabs that smell like urine.. taxi driver got a lot of phlegm
and keep doing the disgusting cough out phlegm sound? Ugh.





Ahhh, finally we reached Marina Promontory!




Isn't this place cuuuuuute? Everything is so funky and vibrant!

Omg i think i wanna steal B&J's colourful theme for my 21st birthday party next year! Hahaha, crazy, just celebrate birthday 2 months ago then now thinking
of next year's birthday already.





Got our media kits and they brought us to get our free Ben&Jerry's ice creeeeeeam!


In case you weren't aware of what B&J's Chunkfest is,
B&J flew in 12 brand new flavors just for the Chunkfest 2010...
Here's the 12 flavors:



And we were suppose to vote for our favourite flavor,
and only ONE flavor stays!

We left early before the voting started, but i checked out the B&Js website
and Maple Blondie is the new flavor that got to stay in SG for good. (:
Awww, but why can't we have all 12 new flavors!





I tried Imagine Whirled Peace, Esther tried Pomegranate Sorbet.

Imagine Whirled Peace is kinda like cookie dough + toffee?
So i didn't think it's very special! Love the pomegranate sorbet thou!
It's sweet, but not those kind like after 5 spoons the sweetness gets too overpowering?





Totally regretted wear heels to the event. Esther almost-fell down like so many times,
should have worn pumps instead, anyway we kicked off our heels,
sat down at the cheery colored picnic mats and started nom nom-ing our ice creams!




Lol, this girl ask me to wear funky colours she also nvr wear!
The B&J chunkfest theme was hippy bright colours, i guess we both fail
at being hippies. :x






This was like Day #02 of my Ettusais No-No-Falsies pledge
and i wasn't wear any falsies!

They had fun games and local bands playing onstage throughout the day
and we were there in time to catch the...




Vermonster Challenge!
People in groups of 4 are suppose to nom down 20 scoops of ice cream
and beat the 59 seconds record they set last year!

Hahahaha, omg it's super gross. Plus they can't even use big spoons
they brought along, have to use the teenie weenie B&J spoons they provided. o.0

Esther wanted to go for the tarot reading..





I personally never believed in fortune telling.. tarot reading whatever.
Listening to somebody spinning up shit about my life?
Be it good or bad i don't wanna hear it.

I don't feel a need for somebody to tell me and "guide" me along my life
because i think when you hear such "advice" or how your future is gonna be like
and you believe in it.

That's how your future will be like, because you believe in it.
I'd rather mold my life with my own hands and
not let somebody just spin in the direction of my "fate" or whatever people call it.

[No-No-Falsies-Diary!] Day #05

Day #05 [No-No-Falsies-Diary!]


It's day 5 since i've signed the pledge to protect my lashes and wear no falsies!
If you've been reading my blog this couple of days you'll know what's going on,
if not just scroll down and read! :D

So, no falsies for 5 days! I thought i was pretty challenging to go without them,
since i'm pretty used to having thick lashes with falsies..
after these 5 days i'm kinda loving the natural mascara look more now!
Perhaps i would really cut down on using falsies except for like special occasions? (:


Went out with my mummy to Ion for brunch + shopping today..




Had brunch at AOBA Hokkaido Ramen.. nom nomm..







Mummy & Meeeeeeee!

Mummy uses ettusais zero pore pact too,
Got one for her hehehe, that's her favourite powder foundation!




Came home and played with my guinea pigs, hehe
peanut is in the same cage as the girls now, but with a partition of cos,
i don't want more "unplanned pregnancies" LOL


nom-nom-ing their hay together!

but every once a day I take away the partition so they can run around together..
snuggle and nap together.. so cute!





A few years back boyf parent's went to Japan and bought these super yummy biscuits and i was HOOKED! So glad Nippon-ya @ Ion carries these.







Oh yes! We were to the takashimaya and bought some snowskin mooncake, my favourite!
Mooncake festival is right round the corner, have you gotten your mooncakes yet? (:
